Firmware (full re-flash)

When do I need this?

Almost never. Only when a box does not respond in the Recovery Console at all, or Evans tells you to update. WiFi/station fixes never need re-flashing.

Re-flash in the browser (no installs)

Download the right firmware:
⬇ MAIN firmware (box without screen) ⬇ SCREEN firmware (box with display)
Open espressif.github.io/esptool-js in Chrome/Edge
Baudrate 921600 → Connect → pick the box's port
Flash Address 0x0 → choose the downloaded file → Program
At 100%: unplug/replug the box, then open the Recovery Console to set WiFi + station

💡 If the flasher won't connect: hold the box's BOOT button while clicking Connect, release after it grabs.

Offline copies

Save this whole site for days the internet is down: press Ctrl+S on each page, or ask Evans for the recovery USB stick build. The Recovery Console itself also works offline once you've opened it before (it's saved automatically).
